PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Since I first “discovered” Boracay while on holiday in October 2012, it has been quite an amazing ride.
Last school year was truly a blessing for me: I had the opportunity to come to BEIS and share my voice and my vision with an amazing group of students, families, and teachers.
I believe we have accomplished much, but we have much more to work on.
This school year will bring more changes that will improve the learning for all students.
  • Data collection through internal Benchmark Assessments to measure student growth
  • Realignment to International / UK Curriculum
  • Addition of Grade 9 to our Secondary School program
  • Addition of foreign language as a required course for students in grades 4-9
  • Development of “Bring Your Own Device” Technology Program for grades 4-9, utilizing available technology in daily instruction for greater student engagement and higher student achievement
  • Addition of math and language arts hours in grades P-3 to achieve foundation skills at high levels
  • A shift to electives taught exclusively by BEIS staff in areas of their expertise within the regular school day
  • New school administration and accounting tools to improve communication between students, parents, teachers, and the community at large

I look forward this year to building a strong Parent Teacher Association.

As a teaching staff, we can accomplish much; as a united team of parents and teachers, we can truly focus on direct changes that improve the school for every student. We can blend the academic program with enrichment opportunities and create something wonderful for the Boracay community. I reach out to you – parents, guardians, friends – and ask that you get involved this year. We have a few major events and many ongoing classroom projects that would benefit from your experience and support. And as Head of School, I need your voice to inform me of the concerns you have about your child’s education. Please, get involved in 2014-2015 and make this a great year.
